Why hello party people! How's it going?
Life here is pretty good. Still only working 32 hours a week, although this week we had our holiday on Monday so it's a 3 day week. Sweet. Until the paycheck comes in of course.
Mom comes in tomorrow for a family wedding this weekend. Poor Adam is going. He has to endure my family. There are a bunch of them too!
Which answers the question some of you are probably asking: Is Carrie still with that boy? Why yes I am. Minus the few days I was in Chicago, we have seen each other every single day for nearly 5 weeks. I know. It's a record for me, right? It's so fun and nice! I love it!
Unfortunately, we've been eating out more than we should. Although I love it because we go to great, healthier places, I have still managed to gain a whopping 3 lbs. Um. Not so good since I would much prefer to lose a whopping 12 lbs (more like 15 now) but I'm sure once we get through that super exciting time period, we'll get back to normal schedules.
Last night I cooked steak, corn on the cob, Mom's canned green beans (with onion and bacon), salad and some of those tasty Sister Schubert dinner rolls. Man, I love those things. I'm sure he was impressed with my Martha Stewart-ishness. Ha!
The holiday weekend was nice and long for me. I didn't do a whole lot on Friday as it rained most of the day.
Saturday we went to Johnny and Alicia's for the afternoon. It was his first official day NOT working around me (although he did go into work for a bit that morning). He played pool volleyball with the big boys while I did this and that. I made Bakerella's cute little bikini bear cupcakes. Although cute, they didn't look nearly as NOT messy as hers did. Pics as soon as Alicia sends them my way. We ended up leaving around 7:30 because we were exhausted. We ended the evening with Gran Torino. We had started it twice already and had fallen asleep watching it. We finally finished it! I really like it!
Sunday I just cleaned house and did 2.5 hours of ironing. Ugh.
Monday was another laid back day running errands. Fe came into town and Alicia and Lisa joined us for No Doubt, Paramore and Bedouin Soundclash at the Starlight Theater. Dudes. No Doubt freakin' rocked! None of that bullshit from Gwen's solo career. Their stage design was awesome: all white - so they dressed in all white and black. My abs and back STILL hurt from jumping up and down forever...at least I didn't break my shoes this time! Such an amazing show! Gwen's abs are pretty good motivation for me to workout!
I've been reading The Secret History by Donna Tartt. I'm not very far along. I keep getting (happily) distracted by some boyfriend of mine. I'm sure I'll get a little time to read it sometime in the near future.
I think I'm going to make some posts about all the Happy Hour and dinner places we have been to lately (we being Colleen and myself and Adam and myself). We'll see if that happens though. My stupid internet at the house is not working. Maybe because I don't pay for it?? Hmm...
Guess I'll talk to you all soon!
